1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run GuroOS for you:
- Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Teaching content — the classes, lesson plans, assessments, grades, and records you create or upload.
- Student records you enter — such as learner names, LRNs, attendance, and grades, which you process as part of your teaching duties.
- Usage and device data — basic logs, feature usage, and technical details we need to keep the Service secure and reliable.
- Founding Teacher survey responses — the feedback you choose to share with us.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, operate, and secure the Service and your workspace.
- To generate AI-assisted lesson plans, assessments, report cards, and other materials you request.
- To respond to your questions and provide support.
- To improve GuroOS, understand how features are used, and fix problems.
- To send important updates about your account, the Service, or these policies.
3. Legal basis and your role
We process your personal data based on your consent, our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating the Service, and to comply with the law. For the student records you enter, you act as the personal information controller for your class, and GuroOS acts as your personal information processor — we handle that data only on your instructions to deliver the Service.
4. AI processing
Some features send your prompts and relevant content to AI models to generate output. We use this only to produce the results you asked for. We do not sell your content, and we do not use your students' personal data to train third-party foundation models.
5. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run GuroOS (for example, secure cloud hosting and AI processing), under agreements that require them to protect it. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. We may retain limited records where the law requires it.
7. Security
We protect your data with industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, per-tenant data isolation, and strict access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your information.
8. Your rights under RA 10173
As a data subject, you have the right to be informed, to access your data, to object to or restrict processing, to correct inaccurate data, to erasure or blocking, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission. You can exercise these rights by contacting us using the details below.
9. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to keep the Service secure. We do not use advertising cookies or sell tracking data.
10. Children's data
GuroOS is for teachers and school staff, not for direct use by students. Any student information in GuroOS is entered and controlled by the teacher or school as part of their legitimate educational duties.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
